Speaking about the upcoming PD program, President Berisha stated that the main commitment remains the improvement of well-being, investment in infrastructure, expansion of the market, subsidies for agriculture and the strengthening of the rule of law. He said that Albanians must choose between the past and the future, between East and West. After President Berisha called the year 1997 decisive for the next reform, he said that the country is moving in the right direction and that this will also be confirmed by the upcoming elections. On the other hand, the chairman of the PD, Prof. Dr. Tritan Shehu, held campaign meetings in the communes of Lushnjë and also took part in the Grand Festive Concert "Vizion 2000" organized at the city stadium of Lushnjë.
